9 - 27. alabaster and moonlight.
Right. That's the chapter for now.
Yeah, I really am not satisfied with this. But if I were to go back and change anything, that would have taken me far more time than it already took me to push this piece of garbage chapter out. Did you know it's been 6 months? Were you counting? Coz I was.
It took me half a fricken year to shit out this chapter and it's a sub-par one with presentation that kinda stumbles and trips over itself.
Anyway, so let's address the elephant in the room. Basically, the issue is this: Senhyakkin is not sustainable on its own. At the end of the day, even with every ounce of creativity I'm putting in, it's nothing more than a fancomic. It's supplementary media for a niche fandom that, let's face it, isn't out looking for arthouse-inspired spinoffs. And so, it shouldn't be my biggest priority here if I want to successfully thrive off my artwork.
So the last few months have been mostly a case of me juggling this and another project, which I've been keeping under wraps, and just... struggling to keep motivated in general. I feel bad about placing Senhyakkin secondary, because there may be people waiting for the next chapter (thank you for your patience by the way), but because there's so much about this story that I desperately want to share. There are scenes I want to get to, characters I want to keep writing, and plot-points I want to have realized. I still love it and I'm still eager to keep working on it. So, no, I don't think Senhyakkin is going to stop any time soon.
it might continue to be slow and sporadic with updates.
The short-comic I'm currently prioritizing over Senhyakkin is something that I hope will earn me some kind of extra pocket change. I'm also doing commissions now, but I am limiting my intake with those and I do NOT intend on relying entirely on commissions for my income. (I especially don't want to be doing commissions on the long-term, it's kind of agonizing and stressful.) If you truly value Senhyakkin and have a means to support indie authors, I implore you to at least take a peek at my Patreon or Ko-Fi.
If you don't have a means, no worries-- comments and reader engagement still help me keep motivated. I may not respond to everyone, but I read every comment, and I even go back to re-read them when I'm feeling stressed and need a leg up. (And right now I really do need a leg up oh god...)
Anyway, let's conclude this word-vom. Unfortunately, I can't say I know when the next chapter will come out. Hopefully it will be some time in November. But at the rate I'm going it might not be until 2022. Please, if you're still interested in Senhyakkin, don't forget to follow me on Twitter or sub to my Patreon! You will be getting progress updates that way.
Uh... that's all for now. Thank you all for reading, and please come back for Chapter 10 whenever it drops!
